Our Marketing and Communications Manager attended an AI and fintech networking evening hosted by Socialite Connections at Mint Leaf Lounge, located in the heart of the City of London. The setting brought together a curated group of professionals across AI, fintech, and technology, including founders, developers, and individuals exploring new applications of machine learning within financial services.
Rather than surface level exchanges, many discussions quickly moved into practical challenges such as data quality, model transparency, scalability, and how AI is being applied in real world financial contexts.
There was an incredible level of talent in the room, particularly among those working on early stage AI solutions. At the same time, these conversations reinforced a broader observation. Many solutions are still fragmented, highly specialised, or positioned as narrow tools rather than complete frameworks.
In contrast, PoMaTo’s approach as a structured, institutional style portfolio construction and optimisation platform generated strong interest. Several attendees commented on the depth of the platform and the clarity of its underlying methodology.
Without overstating it, the event provided a useful validation point. It highlighted both the direction the market is moving in and the gap that still exists between experimental AI applications and robust, production ready investment infrastructure. Engaging directly with peers in this setting remains one of the most effective ways to test positioning, gather feedback, and identify potential areas for collaboration.
